The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has a very distinct look, featuring squared corners and rounded sides, but leaks show the sequel phone might have a more standardized design. Images showing dummy units for the Galaxy S25 Ultra—or perhaps the “Galaxy S25 Note”—show a phone with the same set of camera bumps as the S24 but with rounded corners and flat sides that absolutely scream iPhone 16.
The images come from the routine leaker OnLeaks, who has a good track record for sharing early phone mock-up images. More images from fellow leaker @Jukanlosreve seem to confirm the dummy phones’ shape and size. This adds more fuel to the speculation brought by Android Headlines and OnLeaks back in September with a slew of early renders.

The S24 Ultra featured a large, 6.8-inch screen, and judging by the images, the sequel phone has maintained the same overall thin body. I can’t say I’m a big fan of how every phone seems to be heading in the same design direction. Take the latest Google Pixel 9 phones, which also went for the flat sides and sloped corners instead of the rounded edges of previous devices. Every time we pick up a new phone from the largest brands in the U.S., the only way to tell them apart is by looking at the camera bumps.
Some in the leaker circuit have suggested that Samsung could boost the Ultra’s screen size to 6.86 inches, but we wouldn’t be able to gauge the screen size unless somebody showed the older and new phones side-by-side. There’s further speculation about what panel Samsung could opt for, whether the M13 of the current generation or the M14 used by Apple for its latest phones.
There are enough early renders to support the rounded corners, but fellow leaker Ice Universe further proclaimed that the next phone might be slightly thinner than the previous model, which may mean smaller bezels. It’s a matter of millimeters, so it would hardly make a difference to the naked eye.
What is the biggest problem with the S24 Ultra design?
The number one flaw is that the horizontal screen-to-body ratio is too low. The body width is 79mm, of which only 72.3mm is the screen, and the remaining 6.7mm is all the frame and the middle frame, which makes the hand feel… pic.twitter.com/YjCVWgWeKi

As for those camera bumps, the S25 Ultra could get a 50 MP ultra-wide sensor alongside last year’s 50 MP telephoto and 200 MP main lens, according to Android Headlines via OnLeaks. That may allow you to capture highly detailed vistas, but otherwise, it may be the same old for Samsung’s sensors.
The problem with every phone sporting the same frame is that U.S. consumers’ choice has effectively boiled down to the same three companies making the same damn phones. All the while, Android and iOS have reached near-feature parity. Phones are starting to feel extra staid nowadays, and I seriously doubt Galaxy AI, Gemini AI, or Apple Intelligence will really change that.
Last month, display supply chain analyst Ross Young revealed a few details about the probable colors for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. They include Titanium Black, Titanium Blue, Titanium Gray, and Titanium Silver. So, no, not even the colors are enough to get me excited about next year’s mobile releases.
