Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow were the first and second choice goalkeeper last season which made Klaesson the third choice.
However, he will need to be replaced by the club this summer and the Whites have a target in mind already.
Daniel Farke is going to be busy at Leeds United this summer.
Klaesson, who joined the Whites from Valerenga, spent three years at Elland Road, but this move ended his time with the Whites, where he made just three first team appearances.
With Klaesson’s departure, United are anticipated to bring in a backup goalkeeper.
Leeds United have identified their goalkeeper replacement
According to Leeds Live, the Whites are trying to get Salford City goalkeeper Alex Cairns back at the club.
Cairns came through the youth academy at the club and only made one appearance for the Whites.
However, he is being lined up now to make an emotional comeback to the club he left back in 2015.
