Leipzig: Castello Lukeba absent for two months

It’s a big blow for Castello Lukeba. The French player, injured in the left thigh, will be absent from the field for at least two months. “The injury was still more serious than we thought. He had just come back from an injury, he had to play immediately and it was one match too many», indicated this Tuesday, at a press conference, his coach in Leipzig, Marco Rose.

The German club clarified that the defender’s injury does not require surgery. Arriving in the summer of 2023 in Leipzig from Lyon, Lukeba is, at only 21 years old, one of the pillars of the defense of his team, currently 4th in the Bundesliga. He also recently extended his contract until the summer of 2029.
