Recruited last winter by Atlético de Madrid from Antwerp, the young Belgian midfielder Arthur Vermeeren (19 years old) did not have adequate playing time. Outside of Diego Simeone’s plans, the defensive midfielder was quickly pushed towards the exit. Olympique de Marseille positioned themselves as did Bayer Leverkusen, but it is a third team that will win the bet.

According to ImageRB Leipzig are about to secure the loan with option to buy of the player under contract with the Colchoneros until June 2030. He would thus compensate for the serious injury of Xaver Schlager who recently suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament.
