Robert Lewandowski has informed FC Barcelona that he wishes to continue playing beyond his current contract. A way of telling them that they should hurry up and padlock it, otherwise they will see it slip away to other places.

The 36-year-old Poland international is set to activate a 12-month option in his current contract with Barca. If he completes 50% of matches this season, Lewandowski’s contract will be automatically extended until 2026.

Lewandowski in a strong position

But, the daily Sport affirms that Lewandowski wants to go beyond this deadline and wants a new contract until 2027.

Considering his statistics this season, the former Bayern player clearly deserves an extension. Lewandowski has already scored 19 goals in 17 games in all competitions this season. Statistics which clearly strengthen its position in the negotiations.
