Lexis King wants to see Brian Pillman get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Brian Pillman had a successful career, as he had prominent runs in WCW and WWF. However, it was cut short, as he passed away in 1997. His legacy lives on, as Brian Pillman Jr., now known as Lexis King, is rising to stardom on NXT.
In a tweet, Lexis King responded to a post that asked whether Brian Pillman should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. He stated that his father being inducted was all he ever wanted. King wrote that his goal from day one was to bring enough attention to the Pillman name so that he could take his rightful spot in the Hall of Fame.
Just speaking as Pillman Jr. here for a moment.
This is all I ever wanted. My goal from day one in wrestling has always been to bring enough attention to the Pillman name, to remind us all of this legendary performer so that he could take his rightful spot in the hall of fame. https://t.co/uaXbHIZpgQ
Lexis King On His Name Change
King previously discussed changing his name when he came to WWE. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, he was asked whether there was any discussion about using Brian Pillman Jr. in NXT.
“I don’t want to get into the details. But like when I first got there, like everything was just Brian Pillman, Jr, yada, yada, yada. And then I had some talks, they gave me the whole, you know, we can’t keep your name kind of talk. And I thought, well, I don’t want to make it seem like that’s a bad thing. Honestly, I’ve always sort of fantasized about having my own wrestler name. Because my whole career I’ve had his name. My whole life I’ve had someone else’s name I’ve been I’ve been walking around for 30 years with someone else’s name. Brian Pillman is a name that my father made. He made that name on his own. There’s not much I can add to it.”
