Lexis King’s contract with AEW expired last year and he made his way to the WWE Performance Center and in the months since then, King has honed his craft in a big way. In fact, he claimed that NXT ratings go up whenever he is on television.

Lexis King underwent a noteworthy transformation following his rise to stardom in NXT, attracting both attention and criticism. In addition to this, Lexis King playfully engaged with his fanbase, ultimately naming them “Intellexuals” after careful consideration. Despite mixed reactions, he is rapidly gaining popularity and building a dedicated fanbase.

Lexis King often refers to himself as “The King of NXT” and has had significant matches and victories on the brand since debuting at NXT Halloween Havoc 2023. Despite his success, he has yet to win a title.

While speaking to Busted Open Radio, Lexis King was asked about his claim to the title of “King of NXT” without holding the NXT Championship. King responded by stating that while others may flaunt their titles, he consistently draws viewers and increases ratings every week. He credited his role in creating memorable moments on the show and acknowledged competitors like Ethan Page and Trick Williams, but added that he remains a central figure in NXT and has no plans of leaving anytime soon.

“People can parade around their belts and their gold all they want, but at the end of the day, I’m on the show every week, and people are tuning in to see me. When I come on, the ratings go up. When things happen, who’s in between it all? I make all the moments happen here at NXT. I’ll give Ethan Page his credit. He came in here in a short span of six weeks, he put himself on top. But I’ve been in this picture since the day I got here, and I’m not going anywhere. Ethan Page, congratulations. Trick Williams, he’s got the crowd behind him. But The King is here to stay, and I’m not going anywhere anytime soon.”

Lexis King also claimed that he is ready for main roster call-up. Lexis King also stated that the difference between AEW and WWE is ‘night and day.’ Regardless, we will have to wait and see when Lexis King will become the NXT Champion, as his time will certainly come one day.
