In the midst of a “TV rights war”, Ligue 1 has still not found a broadcaster for next season. Despite this uncertain context which also puts the clubs of the French football elite facing great financial uncertainties, the Professional Football League (LFP) in charge of organizing the French national championships, has nevertheless chosen the date of Friday, June 21, 2024 to announce the official calendar of Ligue 1 2024-2025 vintage which will resume its rights on Sunday August 18. Having been crowned French champion for the 12th time in its history last spring, Paris Saint-Germain will put its title on the line and begin the restart with a trip to the Stade Océane to face Le Havre because of the Olympic Games football events which will take place at the Parc des Princes this summer.
Runner-up to the Rouge et Bleu last season and qualified for the next Champions League, AS Monaco will begin its season by hosting AS Saint-Étienne, winner of FC Metz in the promotion play-offs last May and back in the elite after two years spent at the lower level. The big game of this first day of Ligue 1 will involve Stade Rennais and Olympique Lyonnais, two clubs expected to play leading roles and who will face off at Roazhon Park. While Lille will travel to Reims, Olympique de Marseille will go to Brest, author of a fabulous 2023-2024 season.
