Norwich have received an X-rated rallying cry from legendary musician Liam Gallagher to rub further salt in Liverpool's wounds.

Reds fans are still left reeling from Jurgen Klopp's shock announcement on Friday where he revealed he will be departing Anfield this summer.

And Gallagher - a diehard Manchester City fan - is now hoping Norwich ruin Klopp's day in the FA Cup fourth round meeting in Merseyside later on Sunday.

In what will be Liverpool's first match since the bombshell news, the former Oasis frontman is keen for Liverpool to endure further heartbreak.

Taking to X, 51-year-old posted: "Cmon NCFC let’s really s*** in there handbags LG x."

Gallagher also delivered a parting swipe at Klopp during his appearance on Radio X on Friday.

Giving his immediate reaction to his impending exit, he quipped: "Yeah good riddance man."

Host Johnny Vaughan - a Chelsea fan - agreed with his view, as he joked: "Absolutely right. Spoken like a gentleman."

Having the final say, Gallagher concluded: "I’ve got nothing, yeah, good riddance. See you later!"

In what in his final season, Klopp could end the campaign with four trophies.

Liverpool are leading the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup final and are favourites to lift the Europa League.

And they have been handed a favourable FA Cup tie against Norwich, with the Reds expected to go far in the tournament.

talkSPORT host Jason Cundy believes that should Liverpool win all four competitions, it would be a bigger achievement than City's historic treble from last term.
