Deportivo Alavés – Las Palmas and Osasuna – Celta de Vigo were on the Liga schedule this Sunday at 5pm. After their draw against Real Madrid in midweek, the Canaries travelled to the Estadio de Mendizorroza (Alavés), to try to secure their first victory of the season in the league. Unfortunately for Kasper Cillessen’s teammates, this first success will have to wait a little longer, as they lost (2-0) against Alavès. Thanks to goals from Vicente (7th) and Martinez (78th), Deportivo provisionally occupies fourth place in the standings. Las Palmas is second from last.
In the other match of this late afternoon, Osasuna faced Celta de Vigo in a very lively encounter. Trailing (2-1) at half-time, Iago Aspas and his teammates believed until the end that they could come back, even after Alfon González’s red card. But, they finally conceded their second defeat in a row (3-2). Celta de Vigo are sixth, just behind Osasuna.
