After a difficult start to the season marked by a draw against Betis and a slap in the face against Atlético de Madrid, Girona had finally started its season with a home win against Osasuna. Now, it was a question of confirming its renewal, this Sunday, away to FC Sevilla. And it’s done since the Catalan club did the job (2-0) on the occasion of the 4th day of La Liga.

At the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, Girona fans had to wait until the 41st minute to see Martin open the scoring (41st) before breathing heavily when Ejuke’s goal was disallowed for offside (43rd). In the second half, Abel Ruiz put the nail in the coffin from the penalty spot to give Girona a second straight win, with a fourth place in the standings to boot. Opposite, Sevilla FC dropped to 19th place with 2 points on the board.
