While Real Madrid swept away its runner-up Girona yesterday (4-0), FC Barcelona was relegated to eleven points behind its rival. To continue to believe in the title, victory was therefore obligatory for Xavi’s gang. Receiving the penultimate Granada, the Blaugrana club could have high hopes for this game. For this match, FC Barcelona was organized with Pau Cubarsi in central defense, Andreas Christensen as sentry and an attacking trio composed of Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski and Pedri. For its part, Granada relied on a 4-1-4-1 with Ricard Sanchez and Faitout Maouassa in the corridors, Martin Hongla in the midfield and an attack made up of Facundo Pellistri, Oscar Melendo and Myrto Uzuni.

FC Barcelona quickly took control of the ball and exploited the lanes. On the right side, Lamine Yamal provided verticality when João Cancelo did the same on the left. To make matters worse, the second city provoked on the left and crossed hard at the far post for Lamine Yamal who quickly found the net (1-0, 14th). A fanfare start for FC Barcelona which forced Granada to react. Myrto Uzuni tried his hand at a return (19th), but overall not much was happening in a game polluted by numerous small faults which disrupted the game. At the end of the first act, FC Barcelona came very close to taking the wide.

A match that went completely crazy!

In the middle, Pedri was put into orbit, provoked and with a subtle backheel, he found Ilkay Gündogan on the left of the area. The latter crossed in front of the goal towards the far post where Robert Lewandowski struck towards the wide open goal, but on the line, Martin Hongla, made an incredible intervention (41st). A turning point in this match since Facundo Pellistri provoked on the right before crossing in front of the Blaugrana goal. Ricard Sanchez arrived and was quick to equalize (1-1, 43rd). Returning from the locker room, FC Barcelona wanted to regain the advantage. Relying on Ilkay Gündogan, Robert Lewandowski got into a shooting position on the left of the area, but his shot flew over the target (53rd).

Granada were not left out and Facundo Pellistri showed off his speed on the right. Presenting himself alone against Marc-André ter Stegen, he finally hit the German goalkeeper right in the face, happy to see the ball not end up in his goal (57th). It was only a postponement. Following a cross from the right, Myrto Uzuni appeared at the far post and put it in front of goal for Facundo Pellistri who gave the Andalusians the advantage (2-1, 60th). With their backs to the wall, FC Barcelona did not doubt for too long, because good work between Ilkay Gündogan and Robert Lewandowski allowed the Pole to score (2-2, 64th).

But Barça fell back into their ways and with a header Ignasi Miquel gave Granada the lead again (3-2, 66th). A real blow to the head of the Catalans who threw their strength into their battle to try to equalize. On a free kick from Ferran Torres extended by Jules Koundé, Inigo Martinez thought of equalizing, but his goal was refused for an offside position (79th). In the process, with a superb strike it was Lamine Yamal who would allow Barcelona to come back (3-3, 81st). As usual, Barça was scared and Marc-André ter Stegen was needed to prevent Myrto Uzuni from hitting the right corner (82nd). While the two teams went blow for blow at the end of the match, it was ultimately a 3-3 draw which did not suit anyone. Barça finds itself ten points behind Real Madrid (1st) and five behind Girona (2nd) while Granada is still 7 points behind Celta de Vigo, first non-relegation.
