Continuation of the 6th day of La Liga. Rayo Vallecano welcomed their local rivals Atlético de Madrid to the suburbs of Madrid this Sunday evening, on the pitch of the Estadio de Vallecas. A match that lived up to expectations by being very rich in twists and turns. Indeed, the match started off with a bang for the locals with a goal from Isi Palazón (35th) on a pass from Andrei Rațiu. But the break seems to have been beneficial for Diego Simeone’s men since they managed to turn things around as soon as they returned from the locker room thanks to the equalizer scored by Conor Gallagher (49th) on a pass from Alexander Sørloth. The two teams left on a draw (1-1).
In the standings, Rayo Vallecano falls to 9th place, while Atlético de Madrid remains in the upper echelons of La Liga by climbing to this fine 3rd position. Next weekend, the Franjirrojos will travel to Catalonia to challenge the Girona club, while the Colchoneros will play in Galicia against Celta de Vigo, during the 7th day of the Spanish championship.
