Less than three weeks before facing Paris Saint-Germain, in the round of 16 of the Champions League, Real Sociedad is not doing well. With only one victory acquired in five matches, the Basque team hoped to revive against Rayo Vallecano, 13th in Liga. However, Real had much more difficulty and notably lost two of its strong men, Robin Le Normand and Arsen Zakharyan, during this meeting.
But apart from the injuries, the blue and white club was unable to make the difference against Rayo and therefore conceded a sad draw on its San Sebastian pitch, without a single goal scored. Real Sociedad remains 6th, before a trip to leader Girona. For its part, Rayo falls to 13th place before facing Atlético de Madrid.
