The Basque team first took the advantage thanks to an own goal from Diego Llorente, who deceived his own goalkeeper (14th, 1-0). Mikel Oyarzabal doubled the lead from the penalty spot a few minutes later (31st, 2-0).
A success which will do good for Imanol Alguacil’s men, who were defeated in the league during the Basque derby last week (1-0). At the end of the match, Real Sociedad took 9th place in the La Liga standings with 21 points.
