Following on from the success achieved by Real Madrid against Girona, the 24th day of La Liga continued with a final meeting between Las Palmas and Valencia, this Saturday. Author of an encouraging first part of the exercise, the Che club had the opportunity to take advantage of Real Sociedad’s surprise defeat against Osasuna earlier in the day to move closer to European places in the event of a favorable result.

In ambush in the first part of the table, Las Palmas gave Ruben Baraja’s men a hard time. Masters of possession, the Canary club did not, however, provide enough danger in front of Mamardashvili’s cages. Opposite, Valencia created two clear chances from Munir (28th) and Marmol (45th) without finding the fault either. If Valencia could have obtained a penalty for a contentious action in the opponent’s area shortly before the hour mark (55th), Las Palmas offered good resistance to their opponent before taking control at the end of regulation time thanks to an achievement by Suarez (1-0, 89th). In stoppage time, Cardona came to seal the definitive success of his team (2-0, 90th + 4). Thus, Las Palmas doubles Valencia in the ranking.
