Getafe (17th) hosted Valencia (20th) this Sunday afternoon, in a clash between two teams from the bottom of the table in La Liga. An extremely choppy meeting – 39 fouls called and 10 yellow cards – and in which the Valencians showed realism by scoring on one of their two attempts in the game, thanks to Enzo Barrenechea (0-1, 36th).
Dominant throughout the game, Pepe Bordalas’ players were finally hooked at the end of regulation time, on a penalty from Mauro Arambarri (1-1, 90th). A parity score which does not suit Valencia, still last in the La Liga standings. For its part, Getafe moved up to 15th position, three points ahead of its opponent of the day.
