Even though Mika Faye has been at FC Barcelona for less than a year and is yet to make his first-team debut, the 19-year-old is attracting widespread interest heading into the summer.
As has already been reported, Manchester United are keeping tabs on the Senegalese centre-back, along with Inter Milan and Bayer Leverkusen. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are also keen.
Lens ready to revive interest
Another club who have been closely following Mika Faye are RC Lens. The Ligue 1 outfit tabled a €9 million offer for the teenager back in January, only to see it get shot down by Barcelona.
However, as per reports relayed by SPORT, Lens remain interested in Faye and are all set to return for him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The report states that Lens’ offer for Faye in January was one for a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option worth €9 million. But Barcelona rejected it, along with other enquiries that came in for him.
But now, Lens are prepared to return with a fresh offer, for a direct transfer, with the amount expected to be significantly higher than the €9 million they had put on the table in January.
Faye dreams of succeeding at Barcelona
The interest in Faye is growing quite rapidly after his performances for Barça Atletic, which even led to him making his debut for the Senegalese national team earlier this month.
Despite the number of clubs vying to sign him, the 19-year-old dreams of breaking into the first-team setup at Barcelona and succeeding at the Catalan club.
For their part, Barça too are keen on keeping hold of Faye and letting him continue his development under Rafa Marquez.
Whether that stance changes if a big offer comes along will be interesting to see.
