Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s injury forced Barcelona to enter the market for an emergency goalkeeper signing and eventually secured Wojciech Szczesny’s arrival after the former Juventus star came out of the market.

The Catalans, however, intend to rope in a new goalkeeper in the summer once more as a long-term signing despite the presence of Inaki Pena to keep an option for the future.

Nice’s Marcin Bulka is an option that interests the club on that front.

Bulka comments on his future

Speaking to the media in a recent interview, the Polish goalkeeper commented on his future and links with Barcelona and suggested that the Catalans’ interest was genuine.

“As they say, there is a grain of truth in every rumour,” he said via TVP Sport.

However, Bulka refused to dive deep into the topic out of respect for his current employers and said he left transfer matters to his entourage.

“But when it comes to transfers, I prefer to leave that to my agent. My role is to be on the pitch and to maintain my level every week and perform to make the big clubs talk about me.”

“Of course, such rumours give me motivation, but I am currently focused on Nice and the season is still long,” he concluded.

The Nice player has made seven starts this season in Ligue 1 and averages one goal conceded per game. Astoundingly, he records 4.4 saves per game with an 82% success rate.

His current contract with the French side runs until the summer of 2026, and Barcelona hope to secure his signing next summer when he is in the final year of his deal.

After all, Nice will be under pressure to sell the player for a bargain fee to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
