After qualifying against FC Barcelona in the Champions League (4-1) and crushing OL in Ligue 1 (4-1), PSG wanted to continue their perfect week on the Moustoir pitch against Lorient. The Parisians had to win and hope for a misstep from Monaco to officially validate their title of champion of France. For their part, the Merlus, penultimate in the standings, had to take points to avoid getting a little closer to Ligue 2. And it was not easy despite Luis Enrique’s reshuffled composition. The Spanish technician still launched the young Yoram Zague and Senny Mayulu into the starting eleven while the attack was made up of the trio Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé and Gonçalo Ramos. After a fairly timid start to the match, PSG, who had not really managed to appear dangerous, ended up opening the scoring. As against Barça, it was the in-form Ousmane Dembélé who put his team on the right track. After having played alone with the Lorient defense, he finished quietly with an unstoppable flat foot for Mvogo (1-0, 19th). The hardest part was done for Paris who took advantage of Lorient’s total and unforgivable relaxation to score a second goal. This time, it was Kylian Mbappé who distinguished himself by taking a madjer (intentional or not) from a cross from Nuno Mendes to make the break (2-0, 21st). We therefore expected a walk in the park for the Parisians who then managed their advantage.

Upon returning from the locker room, the Lorientais did not particularly come back with the best intentions and conceded a third goal. Launched from deep, Kylian Mbappé performed a crazy dribble at the opposing defender to deliver a real offering to Ousmane Dembélé for the double (3-0, 60th). A perfect end to the Parisian evening. But that was without counting on the slight burst of pride from Lorient, marked by the entries of Benjamin Mendy and Laurent Abergel. The French left-back delivered a great effort for Mohamed Bamba who reduced the gap with a beautiful header, unstoppable for Donnarumma who had saved his team several times in this meeting (3-1, 73rd). But despite better intentions afterwards, Lorient failed to come back and even conceded a new goal. Kylian Mbappé scored twice in this match (4-1, 89th) to seal the victory for his team and punctuate his excellent match in the best possible way. New 4-1 success, the third in a row, for Paris which will therefore follow the Monaco meeting this Wednesday evening with interest. For its part, Lorient is in 17th place in the ranking and may well fear a decline at the end of the season.
