Qualified for the round of 16 of the Europa Conference League, Lille will have to face Sturm Graz.

First in its group during the initial phase of the Europa Conference League, Lille won the right to start from the first hat for the draw for the round of 16 of the competition, organized on Friday in Switzerland at UEFA headquarters. The Mastiffs will have a lot to do since they will face the Austrians from Sturm Graz, with an away match.

Third in its group in the Europa League behind Atalanta Bergamo and Sporting, Sturm Graz was transferred to the Europa Conference League. It is therefore an opponent not to be taken lightly for Lille. The first legs will take place on March 7, 2024 and the return matches will take place a week later, on March 14.

Second in the Austrian championship

Note that Lille’s future opponent has not lost for almost a month since he remains in seven matches without defeat, in all competitions, with four wins and three draws. Sturm Graz is currently second in its championship after nineteen days, just two points behind the leader, RB Salzburg.

In the other matches, a clash will take place between Ajax Amsterdam and Aston Villa, while Fiorentina will face Maccabi Haifa. For the rest, the various meetings seem particularly open and indecisive.
