Lille launches attack on Arnaut Danjuma

LOSC goes on the attack. While Jonathan David’s future remains uncertain for the time being, the northern leaders are working to strengthen their offensive sector. Recently, Olivier Létang, the president of the Dogues, assured that the departure of the Canadian striker was not a priority. If the Brooklyn native could therefore stay in the north of France, this does not prevent the Lille high spheres from multiplying the leads.

With this in mind, we recently revealed that the residents of the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, long interested in the profile of Youssoufa Moukoko before giving up on the matter, had supervised Willem Geubbels. But that’s not all. According to our latest information, LOSC has decided to take action for another center forward. Indeed, the Lille management has started negotiations with Arnaut Danjuma, currently playing for Villarreal.

Lille aims for a loan

Seduced by the profile of the Lagos native, Lille would like to enlist the 1m78 right-hander on loan. Linked to the yellow submarine until June 2026, the 27-year-old left winger, capable of playing up front but also on the right flank, would thus bring his versatility, his impact and his sense of goal. Loaned to Everton last season, the Dutch international (6 caps, 2 goals) is coming off a relatively contrasting season (2 goals in 21 matches in all competitions).

If he arrives at the Dogues, the current number 9 of Villarreal could therefore relaunch himself, gain playing time and prove all his qualities on the front of the attack. Fast, quick and strong with a very good shot, the ex-Tottenham player had notably shown the full extent of his talent during the Champions League journey of Unai Emery’s gang in 2021-2022. It remains to be seen whether the negotiations will find a positive outcome and whether the two teams will manage to find common ground…
