Beaten by Strasbourg before the winter break (2-1), Lille hosts Lorient in great difficulty this Sunday (1 p.m.) at the Decathlon Arena, as part of the 18th day of Ligue 1.
Seventh in the standings with only three points behind the Top 4, the Mastiffs, who remain in three matches without a victory in the league, will be keen to get back on track. Paulo Fonseca will nevertheless having to cope without Nabil Bentaleb and Adam Ounas, both of whom left to compete in the CAN with their selection. Two absences which are added to those of Bafodé Diakité, Ivan Cavaleiro and Tiago Djalo, all three injured.
Penultimate in Ligue 1, the Merlus have not won in the league since last October and remain eliminated in the Coupe de France against Sochaux (National 1). And to make matters worse, Régis Le Bris will be deprived of numerous elements among injured players selected to play in the CAN (Boisgard, F. Mendy, B; Mendy, Kalulu, Doucoure, Talbi and Yongwa).
