Linda McMahon has split from Vince McMahon, it has been confirmed.

The wife of the former WWE Champion has been in the news this week. She has been nominated as the Secretary Of Education in government by President-elect Donald Trump. This was following his shock win over Kamala Harris this month.

She previously served as the CEO of WWE from 1980 until her resignation in 2009 to make the move into politics. Linda McMahon ran for senate twice, failing to be elected both times. She was made the Administrator of the Small Business Administration during Donald Trump‘s first stint as president in 2016.

The McMahons and Trump go way back and are known as firm friends. The pair donated $10 million to his presidential campaign this year. Donald Trump is a WWE Hall of Famer. He has made numerous appearances on their programming over the years, even hosting WrestleMania twice in the past.

However, it doesn’t seem like Vince and Linda McMahon are on the best terms. The pair are confirmed to be separated, a rumor which has been spread around for a number of years.

Linda McMahon’s attorney, Laura Brevetti, confirmed that the new head of the Education Department is separated from her husband, Vince McMahon. It was confirmed in an article in the Washington Post, although she was not quoted directly.

“On WWE’s wildly popular programs, she has slapped her daughter and kicked her husband in the crotch during appearances in several family showdown storylines. Linda McMahon and Vince are separated, according to her attorney, Laura Brevetti.”

She is representing McMahon in a civil suit, where she is named by five plaintiffs who suffered in the infamous “ring boy scandal”. The suit accused Linda McMahon, Vince McMahon and the WWE of allowing the abuse of ring boys.
