Since Wednesday and the revelations of The Objective, Lionel Messi and Gerard Piqué have been in turmoil. Both players are accused of being at the heart of attempted corruption with UEFA during COVID. To compensate for their drop in salary during this period, the two Barça players would have contacted Luis Rubiales and Aleksander Čeferin. According to the media El EspañolLionel Messi would have met Aleksander Čeferin about the creation of a salary fund possibly generated by UEFA, but not under any conditions.

The Argentinian insisted that this money would always be allocated to the most needy footballers. Lionel Messi even announced to the UEFA president that he was in favor of “not getting paid if there is no money to help everyone”as reported by the Spanish media.
