WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan says it’s special to have a story that isn’t so centered on the championship.
In recent months, Liv Morgan has been involved in a dynamic storyline with Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley. Morgan formed a buzzworthy pairing with Mysterio and worked her way into the Judgment Day. She then beat Ripley to retain the title at WWE SummerSlam, as Dominik turned on “Mami.” The feud has continued to escalate, and Morgan will face Ripley again at WWE Bad Blood.
Speaking with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Liv Morgan discussed the storyline. She noted that it could potentially influence WWE’s booking in the future, as the program incorporated aspects of a love story.
“I think it’s cool to know and show that we can do both,” Liv Morgan said. “Yes I can be a women’s champion and have a story centered around my championship but also bring in these elements that a lot of people growing up watching WWE loved.
“They loved the romance, they loved the messiness, the love triangle. Who doesn’t love a good love story? To be able to bring those together has been cool because it’s usually one or the other. So to have a story that maybe isn’t so centered on the championship is special in its own way.”
WrestleZone will have coverage of WWE Bad Blood as it airs on October 5.
