We know more about the reason that pushed Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp to put on a show during Liverpool’s last match.

The real reason for the argument that took place on Saturday between Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and his manager Jurgen Klopp has been revealed by the English press. The two men had a dispute near the touchline as the Egyptian prepared to come on as a substitute against West Ham. It was just before the Hammers equalized and dealt a fatal blow to the Merseysiders’ chances of winning the title.

Liverpool want to keep Salah for one more year

According to The Sun, Klopp urged Salah to shake his hand before entering the pitch. A source told the outlet: “This happens occasionally with Jurgen and other players. He’s big on interacting with his substitutes before they take the field and he felt like that wasn’t the case at first with Mo. Mo was clearly upset at being left out of the team and was not in a good mood, while Jurgen was not satisfied with his behavior.

Liverpool have no midweek game for the first time since February. Klopp will have plenty of time to prepare for the meeting against Spurs, even if it seems to be without any challenges. It will be interesting to see what the fallout will be from the feud he had with his star. The German coach insisted the case is closed.

After changing his mind for a week, the Egyptian captain could return to his usual position as right winger. He will then certainly be keen to show why he remains a world-class player.

According to information communicated this Monday by The Athletic, Liverpool do not intend to part ways with Salah this summer. Management hopes to keep him at all costs for at least one more season.
