Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would make a huge impact at any of the Premier League’s leading clubs according to Georgia assistant coach David Webb.
The Napoli forward has earned a reputation as one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards following his performances for the Italian side over the course of the last two years.
Kvaratskhelia enhanced his burgeoning reputation with a series of outstanding displays for his country at Euro 2024 and now looks destined to take the next step in his career.
A move in the January transfer window looks on the cards and although Paris Saint-Germain appear to be leading the race for a player valued at around £67 million, English clubs are closely monitoring his situation.
Chelsea and Liverpool, in particular, have been strongly linked with moves for the 23-year-old.
Arne Slot remained coy when questioned about his interest in Kvaratskhelia speaking ahead of this weekends FA Cup third round tie against Accrington Stanley.
‘What I make of that is that it’s January,’ said the Reds boss. ‘I think I said after the West Ham game not to disappoint me, please come up with all these clubs and all these players that have interest from us or the ones that don’t play a lot for us to go somewhere else. That is what’s happening now.
‘Nine out of 10 times, 99 out of a 100 times, at the end of the window it’s clear that almost all of these stories weren’t true.
‘So what can I comment about it? The rumours, keep going for it, but no comments from our side.’
David Webb, meanwhile, has seen Kvaratskhelia’s development at close hand since being appointed to Georgia’s coaching team back in 2023 and he is confident the dynamic forward would be able to cope with the rigours of English football.
‘He is a delight to work with, to be fair,’ Webb told Give Me Sport.
‘Technically, he is superb, and he is really good athletically as well. He has got that willingness to become the absolute best he can be.
‘When you’ve got that inside you, it makes your potential endless. He is a joy to work with, and you can see he has that winning mentality.
‘He has definitely got the scope to fit in well in the Premier League because of the way he plays.
‘Any of the top four or five sides would be suited to his style. If you’re looking at Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester City, he could definitely fit in because of the way they play with that raw, attacking flair, at pace and with intensity.
‘You can see him doing that in the future. But I think, for now, he has been really level-headed where he has been at Napoli.
‘I think he deserves the plaudits he is getting now, and I’m sure that he will do really well wherever he goes on his next venture, if he chooses to move on this month.
‘Whichever club he goes to in his career – whether it be somewhere like PSG, Liverpool, Manchester City or Chelsea – they have got really high expectations and are challenging at the highest level for trophies.
‘He is calm and mature, but would also bring that winning mentality and would not be someone who is going to get overawed by the pressure.’
