After taking the reins of AZ Alkmaar in 2019 and fighting for the title against the great Ajax Amsterdam, Slot confirmed by succeeding Dick Advocaat at the head of Feyenoord Rotterdam, in 2021. In the space of three years, the 45-year-old manager guided his team to the final of the Europa Conference League in 2022, before winning the Eredivisie the following season, then the Dutch Cup this season. To enlist him, Liverpool paid an amount of €10 million to the Stadionclub, since he was under contract with the Dutch team until June 30, 2026.
