Liverpool are interested in signing the OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from TuttoJuve, Liverpool have now entered into negotiations with the French club in order to sign the midfielder. Thuram is reportedly on the radar of other English clubs as well and he will cost around €30 million this summer.

The 22-year-old is likely to be attracted to the idea of playing for Liverpool and it remains to be seen whether the Reds can get the deal done. Liverpool are determined to sign the player this summer.

It is no secret that they need to bring in central midfield reinforcements and Thuram could develop into a key player for them with the right guidance. He has the qualities to contribute defensively as well as creatively. Liverpool could use someone like him in the middle of the park.

Khephren Thuram would be a quality addition

Thiago Alcantara has left the club upon the expiry of his contract and he will need to be replaced adequately. Although the 22-year-old is not quite at that level yet, he’s a prodigious talent with a bright future. Liverpool could nurture him into a top player in the coming seasons.

Also, the €30 million valuation seems quite reasonable for a player of his potential. The French midfielder could prove to be a major bargain at the price if he manages to adapt to English football quickly.

Liverpool will be hoping to compete for major trophies next season and they need quality players at their disposal. Adding more depth to the midfield should be one of their priorities and the 22-year-old would improve them.

Liverpool have the financial muscle to pay the reported asking price and it remains to be seen whether they follow up on the negotiations with a concrete proposal in the coming weeks.
