The succession of Jürgen Klopp is decided: Liverpool have reached an agreement with Feyenoord to poach Arne Slot, who will become the new coach of the Reds.
A legendary page turns. The next chapter is already being written. Nine years after his arrival, Jürgen Klopp will take leave after adding two Champions Leagues, a Premier League, an FA Cup and even a Club World Cup to the Liverpool club’s record. The German technician leaves an indelible mark, as his management and his high-energy football have brought happiness to Anfield.
The leaders of the LFC turned to a coach who is adept at attacking play but who is little-known. It is the Dutchman Arne Slot who will be the future coach of the Reds, as announced by the media in his country on Friday evening. The team of Ibrahima Konaté and Mohamed Salah is fighting for the title of champion of England this season but is behind Arsenal and Manchester City after its defeat in the derby against Everton (2-0).
15 million for Arne Slot
At 45, Arne Slot, a former midfielder who has never left his championship, will be propelled to the forefront after making Feyenoord, winner of the Europa Conference League in 2022, shine (after having dismissed OM ) and champion of the Netherlands in 2023. He began his career as a technician by managing Cambuur then AZ.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano specifies that Liverpool and Feyenoord have agreed on compensation of 13 to 15 million euros for the termination of Slot’s contract. The contract will be signed this weekend.
