Despite interest from two sides chasing promotion back to the Premier League, Hull City won the race for his signature, who are more mid-table in the Championship.

Tigers boss Rosenior could not hide his delight over the signing and revealed the attacking midfielder has been a dream to work with in their short time together.

"Fabio is so important to our plans, I drove down from Hull to London to meet him," he told Sky Sports in an interview that Liverpool fans will love to hear.

"Literally from the first time I met him in person, I knew he was going to sign for us.

"Because there was a connection between us and I think you need that between a player and a coach.

"I think Fabio, the way that he trains, the way he conducts himself, his humility, even in the last ten days we've been together.

"He does things that I love. We get off the team coach, he wants to tidy up the team coach, he's in the dressing room, he's not part of the squad because he wasn't registered.

"He travelled with the team, the team are going to warm up and he is putting people's flip-flops back in their place.

"He sums up the culture of what I want. It is not just about ability on the pitch, it is about your human quality, and that is massive for me.

"Fabio is going to be huge for us, I am so excited just to have him in our team for the rest of the season because I think our playing style fits, our values and culture fits and if that happens with an outstanding player then you should get outstanding performances."

Carvalho showed real promise at Fulham in 2021/22 when he scored ten times to help his boyhood club win promotion to the Premier League.

Liverpool snapped up the youngster on a cheap deal as he entered the final year of his contract, but had to contend with a bit-part role at Anfield, making just 13 Premier League appearances.

A loan was arranged to help him develop further but he could not break into the RB Leipzig side as was hoped.

But a move to the MKM Stadium could revitalise his career and help him become a Liverpool star in the future.
