Liverpool have now joined the race to sign the LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro.
The 18-year-old defender is one of the most sought-after young players in European football right now and the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid are keen on his signature as well.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that Liverpool have joined the transfer race in the last few hours, and it will be interesting to see if they come forward with an official proposal to sign the French defender.
Joel Matip will be out of contract soon and Liverpool will have to replace him adequately. Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are the only reliable central defenders at the club right now. However, Konate and Gomez are injury prone and Liverpool must invest in another quality central defender.
The Lille defender would be a solid long-term investment for the Premier league side and he could develop into a key player for them with the right guidance. The opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in England could be an attractive option for the player, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
