Liverpool have now set the asking price for goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher who has been linked with a move away from the club.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper has done quite well for Liverpool in the cup competitions and he helped them win the Carabao Cup last week.
However, he needs to play more often at this stage of his career and Liverpool will not be able to provide him with those opportunities unless there is an injury crisis. Alisson Becker is the first-choice goalkeeper at the club and the Republic of Ireland international is unlikely to get game time ahead of him when the Brazilian is fit.
A report from Football Insider claims that Liverpool are prepared to sell him for a fee of around £20 million. It will be interesting to see if any club is willing to come forward with an acceptable offer in the coming months.
Caoimhin Kelleher to leave Liverpool?
Kelleher has proven himself in English football with Liverpool and he is certainly good enough to compete at a high level. He could develop into a reliable Premier League keeper with regular game time and coaching. The 25-year-old must focus on his development at this stage of his career and move away from Liverpool would be ideal for him.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will have to bring a quality replacement for him if he moves on in the summer. He has been a reliable backup option to Alisson and replacing him could prove to be tricky.
