Liverpool have been linked with Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The winger, who has been a key part of Napoli’s successful team, has still not finalised a contract extension with the club which has started rumours of his exit.
Ever since joining Napoli in 2022, the Georgian international has emerged as one of the league’s top players.
In partnership with striker Victor Osimhen, he helped the club win their first league title in 30 years.
Rumours have suggested that Kvaratskhelia may decide to quit the team and join the Premier League or another major European club.
Regarding Kvaratskhelia’s future at Napoli, journalist Bacho Tsalugelashvili of Gazzetta dello Sport has provided an update.
According to Tsalugelashvili, when the transfer window reopens in summer, Liverpool are one team that is interested in signing Kvaratskhelia.
“Is Kvaratskhelia’s agent talking to De Laurentiis? I believe the agent will meet the president next week,” Tsalugelashvili told 1 Station Radio’s 1 Football Night, via Area Napoli.
“However, either the contract renewal will materialise or Kvara [Kvaratskhelia] will go to a top club. I don’t know if it is Barcelona or another team.
“Could it be a Premier League club? I don’t know. Liverpool are also interested in Kvaratskhelia, although Barcelona’s interest is more concrete. There are management sources who confirm the Blaugrana’s desire.”
Liverpool are interested in Napoli ace Kvicha Kvaratskhelia
Kvaratskhelia has demonstrated his talent and versatility with 14 goals and 17 assists in the previous season and 10 goals and 9 assists thus far this one.
Even if Napoli have struggled this season, he has still been an instrumental player.
Tsalugelashvili added: “What could be the amount for which De Laurentiis would deprive himself of Kvaratskhelia? I can’t say precisely, but I understand a valuation between €100 million (£85million) and €120m (£102million).”
Liverpool’s interest in the Georgian international only makes sense if they are thinking about looking to let Mohamed Salah leave the club.
Liverpool have decided to keep Mo Salah
Latest reports have suggested that they are planning next season with Salah in their plans.
The Reds still hold Salah in high regard and want to keep him next season as they prepare for the arrival of new manager Arne Slot at the club.
The Egyptian has had an underwhelming season by his standards but even after that, he has managed to score 17 goals in the league along with his 9 assists.
Salah’s spat with manager Jurgen Klopp sparked rumours of an exit from the club but those reports have already been denied.
