Liverpool have shown interest in securing the services of Jonathan Tah, the 28-year-old defender who is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur.

SportBILD via SportWitness reports that Liverpool are looking to add Jonathan Tah to their defense in preparation for the next campaign.

Under Xabi Alonso, the 28-year-old has developed into a world-class central defender, drawing interest from all across Europe.

Before moving to Leverkusen in the summer of 2015, Tah rose through the ranks at Hamburger SV and spent two years on their first team. Over the years, he has always performed well for them, but as of late, it appears like he has elevated his game.

Tah has made 28 appearances so far this season and has contributed six crucial goals. His outstanding performances have caught the attention of several clubs, including Liverpool, who are eager to add him to their squad.

Since Alonso’s arrival at the club, the 28-year-old has continuously improved and showcased his talent. Tah has played a pivotal role in Leverkusen’s remarkable unbeaten run this season, with the team currently sitting atop the Bundesliga table, having not lost a single game.

In order to guarantee they have adequate defense to contend for all major trophies, the Reds want to recruit another elite defender to join Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté in the centre of their defense. One of the centre-backs on their summer want list is Tah.

The 28-year-old, who will be available for just €18 million, reportedly wants to play in the Premier League over all other leagues.

Consequently, there’s a good chance the Merseyside club will reach an agreement. However, they are not the only English team hoping to recruit him.

Spurs are interested in him; despite their recent defensive acquisitions, Ange Postecoglou is still looking for a centre-back this summer, and Tah is on their list.
