Liverpool have made a transfer enquiry over young Wolfsburg centre-back Konstantinos Koulierakis, according to reports in Germany.

Koulierakis, 21, has been dubbed ‘one of the most sought-after defensive talents in Europe’ by Bild, having massively impressed in the Bundesliga.

The German outlet reports that Liverpool officially asked Wolfsburg about Koulierakis in November ahead of a possible offer, although no bid has been made at this moment in time.

Wolfsburg are reluctant to lose Koulierakis but it’s thought that an offer of around €40m (£33.3m) may tempt the German side into a sale.

While Liverpool are currently believed to have the strongest interest, they’re not the only club keeping tabs on Koulierakis’s progress.

Several Premier League clubs, along with Real Madrid and AC Milan, sent scouts to watch Koulierakis in action for Greece earlier this season.

Scouts observed him during Greece’s Nations League home match against England in November, a game which the Three Lions won 3-0.

Koulierakis joined Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in August from Greek team PAOK, penning a contract until the summer of 2029.

He has made a total of 21 appearances for Wolfsburg to date, with the club currently sat ninth in the German top-flight.

Koulierakis had been with PAOK for his entire career before making the switch over to Germany in the summer.

The talented youngster, capped 11 times by his country to date, helped PAOK clinch the Super League Greece title last season.

He was also named in the Super League Greece Team of the Season in 2023 and 2024.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also reportedly interested in a possible move for Koulierakis’ Wolfsburg teammate Mohamed Amoura.
