It's only a matter of hours. Announced a few weeks ago in Liverpool, Richard Hughes will join the Reds today as sporting director according to talkSPORT. The current sporting director of Bournemouth will become the first recruit for Michael Edwards, who has just agreed to return to the club as president. The two men will have as their first mission to prepare for the post-Klopp era.

In priority files, Liverpool has been looking at the successor of the German technician at the club since 2015. Liverpool had been without a sporting director since last summer and the departure of Julian Ward. For almost a year, the Reds had to call on temporary consultants, such as Jord Schmadtke who helped Klopp during the summer transfer window with Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch.
