Liverpool have been linked with a surprise move for the Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde.

According to a report from Defensa Central via Fichajes, Liverpool would be willing to offer €150 million to sign the Uruguayan international.

Clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea have expressed their interest in signing the player as well but Real Madrid do not intend to sell him anytime soon.

The Spanish club has made it their priority to hold on to their best players and Carlo Ancelotti believes that the 25-year-old is a fundamental part of its project at the Spanish club.

Real Madrid do not need to raise funds and therefore it will be quite difficult to convince them to sell the midfielder.

Valverde has established himself as a key player for the Spanish giants and he might not be keen on a move away from the club either. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool follow up on their interest with an official proposal to test Real Madrid’s resolve.

 Fede Valverde to Liverpool?

Liverpool need Federico Valverde

It is no secret that they need quality midfielder after the departure of Thiago Alcantara and Valverde would be an ideal fit for them. He is capable of slotting into multiple roles and he will help out defensively and creatively as well. He has two goals and eight assists this season.

The 25-year-old is tailor-made for Liverpool’s all-action style of football and he has the physical and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League as well. If Liverpool managed to secure his services somehow, it would be an exceptional acquisition.
