Liverpool have already started making plans for their future transfer business.

The Reds had a quiet summer transfer window after making only two signings.

Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili was signed by the club from Valencia while Federico Chiesa joined from Juventus.

The Merseyside club suffered a huge setback when Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi rejected a move to Anfield.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool will now target a move for Zubimendi’s teammate and Japanese playmaker Takefusa Kubo.

The Reds hold a long term interest in the La Liga player and they are now ready to pay £50.6m to activate his release clause.

Liverpool have no financial issues related to the release clause of the player.

Arne Slot’s team were ready to spend a similar amount of money to sign Zubimendi from the same team this summer.

The Premier League giants are particularly keeping an eye on attacking players for the future as their star player Mohamed Salah faces an uncertain future at the club.

Takefusa Kubo to Liverpool?

The Egyptian has entered the final year of his contract at Anfield and he could leave the club next summer.

The Reds will have to prepare for the future and think about replacing Salah.

Can Takefusa Kubo replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool?

Kubo can be targeted as Salah’s replacement, with the player similar to Salah as he prefers to play on the right side despite being left-footed.

The 23-year-old has scored one goal in four La Liga games this season. He will have to improve his goal scoring output at Anfield though.

Even the seven La Liga goals he scored last season might not be enough if he is seen as Salah’s replacement.

The player is nicknamed “Japanese Messi” by the fans for his similar technique and playing style to Argentina and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.

Kubo is still young and needs time to develop into a prolific goal scorer and creator.
