Liverpool have yet to sign any reinforcements this summer. But things should accelerate in the coming days. Arne Slot, the new Reds coach, should welcome a European champion into his squad.

The Mersey club are currently pushing to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. The English club are keen to activate his €60 million release clause and the decision will be up to the player. The latter is said to be very attracted by the offer.

Liverpool have overtaken several rivals

Zubimendi said yes to Liverpool while other big clubs were hot on his heels. Bayern, Arsenal and Barcelona all sounded him out, but failed to convince him.

In the past, many Spanish players have had great success at LFC. Luis Garcia, Xabi Alonso, Pepe Reina and Fernando Torres, to name a few, have shone at Anfield. Zubimendi will be hoping to follow in their footsteps.
