Liverpool host Sparta Praha in the Europa League round of 16 on Thursday night with the Reds having to put a bow on their 5-1 win from the first leg of the tie.

The Merseyside club hammered the Czech Republic side last week and that is exactly what Klopp’s team needed to do as it will allow the German coach to rest players ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final clash with Man United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Liverpool are still fighting on all four front this season and shared the points with Man City on Sunday in their huge Premier League clash.

Klopp has made four changes to that team with Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister, Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott being replaced by Andy Robertson, Bobby Calrk, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo.

The German coach has gone stronger than most expected and has likely done so to keep his side sharp.

As for Sparta Praha, the Czech club had moments last week against Liverpool but have left themselves too much to do at Anfield to advance to the next round.

Brian Pedersen’s team come into Thursday night’s match off the back of another hammering at the weekend as they were defeated 4-0 by Viktoria Plzen but they still remain top of their league by a point.

Pedersen has made six changes from the weekend’s defeat as they look to get some sort of result at Anfield to remember for the rest of their lives.
