Liza Mundy’s ‘The Sisterhood’ Series Adaptation In Works At Lionsgate TV With Scott Delman Exec Producing

EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate Television has optioned Liza Mundy‘s nonfiction book The Sisterhood: The Secret History of Women at the CIA to develop as a a scripted series, with Tony winner Scott Delman attached to executive produce.

The series revolves around a newly trained female CIA officer who is sent on a counter-terrorism operation. She winds up enlisting the help of legendary female predecessors and learns about a “sisterhood” of unsung female spies who’ve spent decades safeguarding the free world by fighting communism, terrorism and the toxic culture of their own renowned spy agency.

Thirteen-time Tony Award winner Delman will executive produce the project. Delman served as executive producer on HBO Max’s Emmy-nominated post-apocalyptic limited series Station Eleven. He has also earned six Olivier Awards and served as a producer on several major Broadway hits, including The Book of Mormon, Death of a Salesman, All The Way, Raisin in the Sun, The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time and The Ferryman, among many others. 

Mundy is the author of five books and an award-winning journalist. In addition to The Sisterhood, her books include Code Girls, Michelle: A Biography, The Richer Sex and Everything Conceivable.

Todd Shuster, co-CEO of Aevitas Creative Management and Aevitas Entertainment, brokered the book deal with the publisher Crown, a division of Penguin Random House, and Kayla Grogan at Aevitas Creative Management brokered the TV deal with Lionsgate.
