The trajectories of Bixente Lizarazu and Laure Boulleau present several similarities.

Laure Boulleau was only eleven years old when Bixente Lizarazu won the 1998 World Cup with the French team. The native of Clermont-Ferrand could not yet imagine that she would have a professional career strangely similar to that of the Basque.

“Zizou is my idol, but so is Bixente. As much as I love Zidane, I don’t look like him at all. So, Bixente, we have a few things in common. The size, the position, the left-handedness, the initials, it’s incredible… The number, it’s in the media today, I’m there too. I had the chance to meet him and we realize that we are a bit clones. It’s quite funny, we laugh about it”confided the former Paris Saint-Germain player, now a consultant onCanal+on the occasion of Darren Tulett’s podcast.

Laure Boulleau remembers the time she lived when the Blues won their first World Cup. “In 1998, it wasn’t the same life. There were no phones, no social media. So actually, the memories I have are unforgettable. We know which sofa we were on, limit the color of the wallpaper, who we were with. This memory created my vocation for football. I said to myself: ‘What is this crazy sport? Everyone goes out into the streets, we win.”remembered the one who would not have known this joy as a footballer.
