Now at Los Angeles FC, Hugo Lloris looked back on his “difficult period” during his last six months with Tottenham.

Arriving at Tottenham from Lyon in 2012, Hugo Lloris left London this winter to join Los Angeles FC. On the California side, the French goalkeeper will find playing time again, he who has not played this season with the Spurs. It must be said that the native of Nice was initially supposed to leave the London club last summer, but he ultimately remained playing as Guglielmo Vicario’s understudy.

A period without playing which was complicated to live with for the former captain of the Blues. “Let’s be honest, these last six months have been a difficult time. When you are a professional footballer, when you wake up in the morning, you set yourself goals”confided Hugo Lloris during an interview with The Athletic.

“I spent more time with the staff and my family”

And the 37-year-old doorman added: “At the same time, I tried to take things in a positive way. I spent more time with the staff and my family and organized my life for the future. I didn’t want to waste time because I had two injuries in the first half of 2023, so I trained well. »

As a reminder, Hugo Lloris played eleven seasons in the colors of Tottenham, playing a total of 444 matches (all competitions combined). Club legend, however, he has not won a single trophy with Spurs, with whom he still played a Champions League final in 2019.
