After a mixed loan spell at Girona, Pablo Torre appears to have finally vindicated himself at Barcelona by enjoying a stellar pre-season campaign under Hansi Flick this summer.

Torre’s performances in pre-season have boosted his prospects in the Barcelona first-team, with the club recently registering him in the senior squad for the season ahead.

Torre’s future is not guaranteed

However, amid all the excitement, a recent report from Diario SPORT has offered a rather grim update on Torre’s prospects at Barça.

The report does suggest Hansi Flick is satisfied with Torre’s performances in pre-season and is willing to give him a chance to impress this season.

But the midfielder’s future at Barcelona is not guaranteed this season, as the club are still not in a position to guarantee him regular game-time.

This is primarily because of the fact that Barcelona have way too many players in the same position as him.

Indeed, the Catalans have a stacked central midfield unit, boasting the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Ilkay Gundogan as well as youth prospects such as Marc Bernal and Marc Casado.

This could invariably limit Torre’s game-time at Barça this season, thus leading to a problem which is quite familiar for the young midfielder.

Loan move not ruled out

In light of Torre’s limited prospects at Barcelona, the club have not ruled out a loan move for the youngster.

As per the report, the management will monitor Torre’s situation in the upcoming games against Valencia and Athletic Club.

Based on his performance and importance to the team, they will decide whether or not to loan him out.

Girona are one of the potential destinations for Torre, should he leave Barcelona for yet another loan spell this summer.
