Long Time: AEW Star Expected To Miss 6-12 Months Following Major Injury

That’s a long time. Injuries are one of the worst things that can take place for any wrestler and you never want to see someone put on the shelf for any amount of time. Unfortunately there are all kinds of things that can cause a wrestler to be hurt and the question becomes how long it will take before they can get back in the ring. Now a prominent star is going to be out of action for a very long time.

On January 2, 2024, AEW’s Kota Ibushi injured both of his ankles during a match against Naomichi Marufuji. Ibushi has since had surgery on both of his ankles, leaving him out of action. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ibushi is expected to be out of action for six months to a year as he recovers. Ibushi was signed to AEW last year and lasted wrestled for the promotion on November 15, 2023.
