1 Lorde deleted all of her Instagram posts last month. Normal, right? Well, maybe not normal, but it’s certainly a tactic celebrities employ all the time. Especially musicians about to drop something new. So no, we weren’t overly concerned when she wiped her feed completely clean.
But we’re VERY concerned now! Because the crooner just returned to IG on Monday morning… and her only post as of press time is a carousel of photos of herself rocking a nasty black eye! WTF?!?!

The 27-year-old singer sparked immediate speculation on Monday morning when she posted a carousel of seven new photos for her nearly 11 million followers on the ‘gram. Of the seven photos, a whopping FIVE were selfies and other snaps of her with a black eye!! The sixth photo was of what appeared to be a DVD from a medical imaging place with several locations in Los Angeles — like, the kind of health outfit that does MRIs and x-rays and things like that. And the seventh photo was of a baseball cap with this curious phrase stitched onto it:
“Do you have the stones?”
Huh?!
And then things got even weirder in the caption!! In it, Lorde wrote out the acronym that accompanies the baseball hat’s message, while ALSO writing out a series of indecipherable characters, too:
“DYHTS? ©ĿŁု⑷♶⚤”
Girl, WHAT is going on?! Blink twice if you’re safe!!
Oh, and if all that isn’t strange enough, Lorde was also very openly smiling in one of the black eye pics — as though she didn’t have a single care in the whole wide world!!

Fans sure thought so, too. In the comments, they quickly divided up into two camps. The first camp (seen below) decided to make light of the snaps and mine for speculative commentary regarding the possibility of all this being an elaborate lead-up to a new album or something:
“lorde if u need help drop an album”
“she’s hinting that she has a ‘hit’ coming”
“looks like you didn’t work it out on the remix with someone”
“But it’s just a UPPERCUT of us”
“My Lorde, drop an album to let us know you’re safe”
“that one friends who posts themselves in a hospital bracelet with no explanation”
“DYHTS? = Do you hate Taylor Swift? // Answer: yes”
Okay, that last comment, WOOF!!!
The second group of fans, tho, was obvi more concerned as to whether Lorde was physically safe and sound after her obviously scary eye injury:

Like we said, no updated posts or new info as of Monday afternoon. Lorde re-shared one of the black eye photos to her IG Stories, but that’s it. We need clarification, y’all!!! What about U, Perezcious readers?! Are YOU worried about Lorde?
