The National Caretaker Committee Chairperson of the Labour Party, Senator Nenadi Usman, and the 2023 Gubernatorial Candidate of the Party in Kaduna State, Jonathan Asake, on Sunday, joined other dignitaries in condoling with the family of the late Women Leader of Chikun Local Government Area, Mrs Grace Felix.

PUNCH Online reports that sympathisers have continued to visit the deceased’s home in Kudenda since the news of her death broke on Monday, September 2, 2024.

The Kaduna State Chairman of the party, Yusuf Danbaki, spoke when he led a delegation on behalf of the Labour Party National Working Committee on a condolence visit to the deceased’s family residence in Kudenda, Kaduna.

According to him, the deceased was a great politician, very loyal to the party, and took party affairs seriously.

Danbaki said, “The deceased, during her lifetime, stood for unity and togetherness, always committed to promoting the party’s image and championing policies that would positively impact the lives of party members.

“We are here to sympathise with you on behalf of our National Caretaker Committee Chairperson, Senator Nenadi Usman, and the 2023 Kaduna Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate, Honourable Jonathan Asake.

“During the last election, we recognised her role in ensuring that a Labour Party candidate emerged as the winner in the election for the Member Representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency.

“The late Mrs Grace had served the party with passion and dedication, taking on every assignment without any expectation of reward.”

He lamented that the deceased would be greatly missed in the forthcoming local government elections scheduled for October 19, 2024, as a key grassroots mobiliser.

“The October 19 local government elections will undoubtedly be challenging for the Labour Party due to her strong influence and following in the party.”

Danbaki also commended the deceased’s husband for his patience and support of his late wife, recognising her invaluable contribution to the progress of the party while she was alive.
