The father of Liverpool star Luis Diaz says he ‘hasn’t given up hope’ of moving to either Real Madrid or Barcelona.
The Colombian joined Liverpool in 2022, turning down Spurs in the process.
Diaz had long been tracked by Barcelona during his time with Porto but he moved to Anfield in a £37million deal.
The winger has been in good form this term, scoring 11 goals in all competitions.
But his father says he still has hope of moving to Spain.
‘There was never anything serious with Real Madrid or Atlético,’ Diaz senior told Cadena Ser.
‘Liverpool were always more determined and concrete to sign Luis. We haven’t lost our hope yet… Luis is playing well and Spanish clubs are always active in the market.’
Jurgen Klopp’s departure at the end of the season is bound to unnerve supporters.
Virgil van Dijk said in February that he will assess his future at the end of the season, while Mohamed Salah continues to be linked with a big money move to Saudi Arabia.
Liverpool are yet to announce a successor for Klopp.
